How I feel about Blind Dating

Blind Dates aren’t what they used to be. At least in my opinion… and here is why.

In the world of internet personals, where it seems like every Tom, Dick, and Harry have a personal, it isn’t as weird as it used to be to meet someone off the internet.

And they are never completely blind, because you usually have the oppurtunity to see what they look like and to talk to them a little bit, thanks to the wonders of AOL Instant Messanger. Even when a friend sets you up, you usually have the oppurtunity to engage in AOL conversations before you meet in person.

Has a blind date ever worked out for me? Yes. thankfully yes.

Have I ever been on a blind date and liked the guy, but had him not like me… Yes.

Have I ever been on a blind date, and not liked the guy, but he liked me… Yes.

Have I ever been on a blind date, and neither one of us liked the other very much… Yes.

That is pretty much the four ways a blind date can go, and from my experience in Blind Dating it is completely random. Do people’s feelings get hurt, hell yes. I know mine have been hurt before, but is that the risk of dating? You better believe it.

Also, please download Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder. It is just as good today as it was the day it came out.

And my roomate claims that the new Strokes record is good to makeout to.

Lastly, I watch Blind Date, the tv show, a hell of a lot, and have learned a lot about the ins and outs of dating through this.

Be well.
